Aster macrophyllus (Big Leaf Aster) is a late summer blooming Aster that thrives in shady areas where it will attract bees and butterflies. Spreading by rhizomes, it is a great groundcover in woodland areas and especially for holding shaded slopes. USDA zones 3-7.
