Plant it in a full sun location in average soil with good drainage. They are excellent in rock or alpine gardens, along a path, and in containers. Water moderately to establish, thereafter it’s waterwise and will withstand even hot summers in a rock garden. Plant them with spring blooming bulbs such as crocus, daffodils, Muscari, and early tulips for heightened color. Trim back plants when flowering has finished to encourage thick growth. Native to the Mediterranean region it is a cold-hardy plant that is a low-maintenance solution for xeric spring color. Hardy in zones 6-9, its foliage is evergreen.
