Muhlenbergia rigens Undaunted® ‘Sure Thing’ (Deer Grass) is a dramatic ornamental bunch grass discovered over a decade ago in the Canadian River canyon in northeastern New Mexico by Colorado plantswoman, Lauren Springer. ‘Sure Thing’ is an exceptionally cold hardy selection of Muhlenbergia that thrives in the harsh winters and hot summers of the Southwest. Each spring, it produces an abundance of new foliage that blooms with tall, silvery-tan spikes that create a shooting fountain effect. Unlike many grasses that break under snow and wind and disintegrate by mid-winter, ‘Sure Thing’ maintains superb winter interest.

Plant it in a sunny location in well-drained soil where it has plenty of room to show off. At 30-36" tall and wide, it will be a focal point in the garden, adding structure and vertical interest all season long. When planted en masse, it will create a long-lived and drought tolerant lawn alternative that deer and rabbits will ignore!
